Garden make overs
To improve greenspace during the pandemic in Spring 2020 Ready Steady Grow organised a local competition to revive some of the front gardens of Pollokshields East.
Our trusted gardener Joe gave five Pollokshields East front gardens a make over in September 2020. The results were enjoyed by the many residents who walked the area during various lockdowns.

Make over your own garden
Autumn and winter are best times to make over your garden.
We asked our trusted gardener Joe to show us how he does it and you can see his easy to follow steps in the film.
Planning a garden is easy you simply need to think about shrubs you might like to see grow year on year. We have noticed that pieris, hydrangea and buddleia do very well in Pollokshields. If you have somewhere for plants to climb over, a fence or railings you may want to consider planting clematis.
Finally spring flowering bulbs are a great addition to any garden as they will herald the spring when they appear.
